Welcome Message from our Headteacher, Miss. C. Lucas

Putting children at the heart of all we think, say and do!

I am very proud to be Head teacher of Hodge Hill Primary School, the school my siblings and I all attended as children. We are a much improved school who are continually evolving to achieve excellence. Excellence, not only in our academic outcomes, but excellence in all our learning, conduct and wider contribution to each other, our school, our Trust and wider community.

We recognise that to achieve excellence we cannot stand still. We recognise that we have to continually reflect, review and improve. The emphasis on all that we do is to:

  • raise standards through excellent teaching
  • empower our pupils through high expectations and aspirations for them and by them
  • produce inquisitive, independent and confident learners
  • equality for all regardless of race, disability or gender
  • raise the quality of the learning environment
  • instil a sense of good citizenship in our pupils and staff as part of the local, Birmingham, National and International contexts
  • continue to build on the support of the local community, parents and Create Partnership Trust.

We work through the lens of our core values of excellence, partnership, perseverance, open mind-set, integrity and a spirit of adventure.

We welcome the opportunity to celebrate achievement, to capture both those elements of success but also the not so great moments and turn these, through analysis, innovation, risk taking and challenge, into even greater success.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with others both locally, nationally and internationally.

We accept that to achieve excellence we must persevere while holding onto our core virtues and our core moral and educational purpose.

We believe that everyone matters, that we must care for each other and about each other and that we are partners as we navigate through our self-development.

Welcome to Hodge Hill Primary School, where excellence is achieved because we put our children at the heart of all we think, say and do.
